SUGGESTIONS FOR SUCCESSFUL MAKEUP APPLICATIONS FOR YOUR BRIDAL PARTY

Wedding pictures will be cherished for years to come and should reflect a timeless elegance.

I select makeup colors  to complement each person  based on their skintone, hair and eye color and  special occassion dress.

PREPARE YOUR SKIN

Use a gentle exfoliatiing  product once or twice a week to remove the buildup of dead skin cells. Your face will show any dry or rough patches so it is best to try to smooth it ahead of time. Keep your skin well moisturized and use an appropriate masque for your skin type once a week.

Clean your face well on the morning of the wedding.  If your skin is showing signs of dehydration  you may needto apply  a light, oil-free moisturizer. If your skin is oily, don't wear any moisturizer.

WHAT TO BRING

Wear a top with a neckline that  matches your dress, a strapless top, tank top or button down blouse.

Bring a lip gloss or lipstick for touch-up after dinner.

WAXING

If you wax any part of your face please do this at least 4 days prior to the special occasion makeup application. It will take time to close the pores after waxing and makeup may not apply correctly if waxing is done within 4 days!

TANNING

If you must be outside, avoid getting tan lines by wearing a bathing suit top that matches your dress or a strapless top. If you use a tanning bed or get an airbrush tan, try it out ahead of time so you know how deep to go and how long it will last on you so you can plan ahead on when to tan.

QUICK FIX FOR TAN LINES

If you have tan lines, get a self tanning product and apply with a makeup brush or paint brush onto the tan lines only. Do this daily until the skin matches then you can use all over if you wish.

NOT ENOUGH SLEEP

A late night can cause circles under your eyes to appear or become more prominent. This happens because lack of sleep tends to cause the blood vessels under the thin skin of the eyes to dilate, creating a dark tint. Remember to take it easy on the salt and drink water in between alcoholic drinks at the rehearsal dinner or fluids can build up under the skin and cause puffiness and swelling, creating bags under the eyes.

A quick fix for dark circles: cooled tea bags underneath each eye for a few moments. The type of tea doesn’t matter -  the tannic acid in the tea leaves  encourages some of the fluid to retract and the blood vessels to shrink.
